Dan co-Founded QMR in 2002 and is QMR’s CEO and President, leading the development and execution of the organization’s vision, mission and strategy. Ultimately responsible for QMR’s direction, operations and resources, Dan has more than 30 years of cumulative leadership experience, providing professional services and leadership to diverse organizations across the Canadian federal, provincial and local governments and a broad array of large enterprise organizations.
Since graduating in 1997 from the University of Ottawa with an MBA, Dan has been actively involved in the University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management. Serving as the Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board, Dan is also a ‘CEO in Residence’ delivering lectures and participating in the executive mentorship programs with Telfer Management students. Dan served as director for the Ottawa Board of Trade (Chamber of Commerce) for 6 years before becoming the Chairman of the Board of Trade, he has served as a director for the Community Foundation of Ottawa, the Ottawa Partnership for the City of Ottawa, as well as co-Chairing the Advisory Board (Canada) for LEADing Practice.
In 2006, Dan was the recipient of the Ottawa Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 Award, having also earned the University of Ottawa’s School of Management Young Achiever Award that same year. In 2020, Dan was awarded the Trudeau Medal; the highest honour given by the Telfer School of Management to its Alumni. Recognized for championing trust and credibility in the consulting and professional staffing industry, Dan has been a long-serving member of the Government Temporary Help Services Advisory Committee (GTHSAC) managed by PSPC, tasked with developing innovative approaches to government professional services acquisition capabilities.
Prior to founding QMR, Dan worked as a strategic corporate alliance director for Nortel Networks, as well as a trade commissioner with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Dan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Carleton University. Dan is actively involved throughout the NCR community and spearheads QMR’s sponsorship of more than a dozen charities and not-for-profit organizations including Meals on Wheels, CHEO, the Children’s Wish Foundation, the Ottawa Food Bank, among others.
Kristina Kanjilal brings more than 25 years’ experience in business development for professional services and management consulting companies. Prior to QMR, Kristina was Director and Business Development Manager for SOMOS Consulting Group, where her client focus and leadership skills were instrumental in driving sales and managing and growing some of the firm’s largest public and private accounts. Kristina also worked as a Consultant for KPMG LLP providing assistance to public and private sector clients on projects ranging from Business Process Improvement, Human Resources Management, Executive Search, and Program Evaluation. Kristina holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Masters of Business Administration where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and achieved the C.A.H.A. Award of Excellence in Marketing. As a key member of the Management Team at QMR, Kristina is responsible for leading and managing the Sales team, execution of corporate growth objectives, managing the Client experience, issue and risk escalation, and providing strategic advice and guidance to the CEO.
Evelyn has more than 30 years' of experience in client relationship management, recruitment, management consulting, strategic planning, and facilitation. Her professionalism, integrity and ability to achieve significant results and outcomes are recognized by clients and peers alike. Prior to joining QMR, Evelyn held the position of Client Business Partner with Export Development Canada for 5 years, helping various lines of business with demand management, IT portfolio monitoring and reporting. Working closely with the senior management team, Evelyn earned a solid reputation as a trusted and valuable partner, gaining insight into strategic planning at the executive level. She also has over 20 years of related experience as a Senior Account Manager with an international consulting firm responsible for business development, client relationship management and successful engagement delivery. Evelyn was nominated for the President's Club for 4 consecutive years for achieving results putting her into the top 2 percentile in North America. Evelyn approaches each day as an opportunity for meeting new people and expanding her knowledge set.
Jennifer Wowk leads the QMR team in driving Operational Excellence, with a primary focus on engagement processes, quality, and systematic optimization. Jennifer has more than 20 years' of experience in the Management Consulting, Staffing, and Solutions Integration industries. Prior to joining QMR, Jennifer was the Director of Customer Experience at StoneShare, a Microsoft Gold Certified Solutions Integration firm, where she was a key pillar in the successful delivery of both resources and projects. Preceding that, Jennifer co-Founded reDock, a proposal automation software solution based on AI technology. While with reDock, Jennifer built and scaled the Customer Success division and managed Operations, Proposals, Marketing, Communications, HR, and Office Administration while expertly learning team of resources to provide pre-sales, sales, and customer delivery for national enterprise accounts. Prior to reDock, Jennifer led the Proposal Team at Eagle Professional Resources, Canada’s 5th Largest Staffing Agency, driving proposal win ratios from 12% to 65% nationally, supporting 10 branches coast-to-coast, servicing more than 400 clients. Jennifer’s background in leadership and management includes three Certifications from Dale Carnegie in ‘Leadership Training for Managers’ (2013), ‘How the Best Senior Leaders Pave the Way to Engagement’ (2015), and ‘Managing Customer Expectations’ (2016), and two Certifications from the Professional Development Institute: ‘Advanced New Manager and Team Leader, Applying Harvard University Global Systems’, and ‘Leadership and Management for New Manager and Team Leader’. Jennifer also possesses an English Degree from the University of Ottawa and a Diploma in Print (Investigative) Journalism from St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology.
Karen joins the QMR Team in the position of Engagement Specialist, leveraging her strong experience and background in key Consultative Services engagement support. As a 'people’ person and Client engagement specialist, Karen has always been driven to deliver excellence through attention to detail and listening. She is passionate about combining the fields of engagement support and team building toward impacting effective Client delivery. Solving Client issues with data analysis and informational support her drive. Karen brings a wealth of experience in senior Client engagement support to complement the Team.
Heather came to the QMR Team with over 25 years' of experience and maintains a Strategic Quality focus, with experience as a senior proposal manager and writer, with additional focus on business development, and client and contract management. Most of her experience has been gained with consulting firms specialized in audit & management and information technology - IT (specifically systems and network architecture, IT security, IT project management, and application development). Her strong background in professional services consulting, proposal writing and management and customer success enables her to bring a wealth of placement, contract and proposal experience to help lead the QMR transition to sustainable consistency. Heather has a BA from Carleton University and Certificate in Business from Willis College.
Tracy joined the QMR Team in 2008, and in her current position of Recruiter, leverages her extensive industry and corporate knowledge, as well as capability, to match the right candidates with the right opportunities. Tracy holds a BSc from the University of Victoria.
Katrina joins the QMR Team in the position of Proposal Specialist, leveraging her strong experience and background in proposal writing and customer success to drive QMR's win ratios on competitive procurements. Katrina brings a wealth of proposal writing, procurement, and industry experience to complement the Team. Prior to joining QMR, Katrina was a Proposal Manager at Experis. Katrina possesses a Diploma in HR Management and in Law from from Algonquin and Fleming Colleges.
Jessica is a member of the QMR Team in the position of Senior Proposal Specialist, leveraging her strong experience and background in proposal writing and customer success to drive QMR's win ratios on competitive procurements. Jessica brings a wealth of communications, marketing, procurement, and proposal experience to complement the Team. Prior to joining QMR, Jessica was a Corporate Proposal Manager at StoneShare, a Microsoft Gold Certifed Solutions Integrator, where she was directly responsible for garnering more than $1M in proposal related revenue with a win rate of 70%. As a Customer Success Advocate at reDock, Jessica was the SME for the original software solution design. She was responsible for writing functional specifications, leading User Acceptance Testing, and the provision of on-site and virtual client adoption. Jessica possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Carleton University, a Diploma from Sheridan College, and a Certification in Communicating with Different Personality Styles from Dale Carnegie Training.
Phoebe joins the QMR Team in the position of Proposal Specialist and Social Media Coordinator, leveraging her strong acumen and experience in proposal writing and coordination of social media channels to Clients and Consulting Clients. Phoebe brings industry experience and knowledge to the QMR Team to assist with the broad range of contributions to complement the Team. Prior to joining QMR, Phoebe was a Proposal Specialist with the Sterling Group. Phoebe possesses a degree in Social Communication and Diploma in Professional Writing from St Paul University and Algonquin College respectively.
Vishakha joins the QMR Team in the position of BackOffice/ Financial Integration Analyst, leveraging her strong experience and background in analytics, accounting, client management and financial systems. As a 'people’ person and a numbers specialist, Vishakha has always been driven to improve HR through metrics and numbers. She is passionate about combining the fields of HR and finance toward impacting workplace decisions and results directly. Solving Client issues with data analysis and metrics is her drive. Vishakha brings a wealth of experience to complement the Team and possesses a Master of Business Administration (Telfer, University of Ottawa), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, and has Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
Elizabeth joined QMR in 2005 as the Finance Administrator responsible for QMR's day-to-day financial activities. Prior to joining QMR, she worked for over 17 years at the regional accounting office for a major retail outlet. In this role she was responsible for financial and reporting issues for the outlets within the Eastern Ontario region. Elizabeth has a bachelor's degree in economics from university in Warsaw, Poland.
